Butterfield Park

City of Corona – Parking lot and Softball Fields

Parking Lot: A&B was selected by the City of Corona, Department of Water and Power to prepared Plans, Specifications and cost estimates for the public The 2.3 acre site is located within the existing Butterfield Park site in the City of Corona. The scope of improvements include the addition of approximately 31,500 sf of new asphalt parking as well as approximately 58,900 sf of pavement rehab (full depth reclamation) to the existing parking lot. The proposed grading design for the parking lot perpetuated the existing drainage patterns by sheeting runoff to the north and west. Runoff tributary to each area was treated by a vegetated swale prior to being released downstream. Project permitting by the US Army Corps of Engineers was required for the grading work with the Prado Dam Flood Control Basin. A&B provided an earthwork model and calculations to show no net fill into the existing basin to maintain the existing storage capacity.

Softball Fields: A&B teamed with BMLA, Inc. to prepare grading and drainage plans for new softball fields nos. 6 & 7 at the Butterfield park site. The softball fields were grading to NCAA softball standards for line and grade, complete with dugouts, outfield fences located on mow curbs, bullpens, ADA complaint sidewalks and pathways from parking lots to the fields.
